Planning UC and Cloud Day – What have we been doing?

Hello Readers

Myself and UC and Cloud Day have been having a lot of fun at Microsoft Thames Valley Park this week in planning UC and Cloud Day 2017. As we strive to make this conference bigger and better year on year, we are always looking at interesting ways of keeping our attendees engaged. So I came up with an idea of doing some interview sessions with some of our Gold Sponsors and an advertisement video involving myself and some of my guys. We even managed to rope in our MVP Lead Claire Smyth and MS TSP Graham Hosking.  Our events in 2015 and 2016 have been a great success which make me proud of what we have achieved as the UC and Cloud Day is getting global recognition.

The videos will be coming soon, and we’ve had a chance to speak to some of the sponsors and talk about what they bring to the day, chat about why we’re putting UC Day on again this year and why you should attend and of course much more. Before I leave you with a bit of a sneak preview of what we got up to, here’s a few great reasons why you need to keep the 9th October 2017 free in your diary!

  • It’s a great opportunity to network with your peers. With the pub quiz the night before, we’ve made it super easy to break the ice over a few beers (or your selected beverage!), this year I will be drinking a lot less 🙂
  • We’ve picked near Birmingham Airport because it’s very well-connected — a short train journey from Euston if you’re based in London, and if you are coming from all over the UK or further afield, not only is there a good rail network, we’ve also got the airport handy five minutes from the venue and we’re at the heart of the nation’s road network, with easy access from the M5, M6/M1, M42 and M40.
  • We can bring you the BEST speakers on the subjects you need to know about. The carefully curated sessions by the owners of each technical track are keeping in mind what YOU will need to get skilled up on and we’re picking out the most interesting sessions from people who really know what they are talking about — including Microsoft, MVPs and of course other IT pros.
  • It’s open to all! If you are beginning your career or a seasoned IT pro, then there is something for you. Whether you are a system admin, IT technician or consultant — there are interesting sessions you will find valuable. It’s not aimed at elite partners or those doing the most cutting edge stuff. We’ve got sessions for that kind of stuff, but for example, if you are an expert on Exchange looking to move into Azure, Skype or something different you’ll get your deep dive Exchange sessions for what you are doing today and be able to get some basic knowledge on areas you want to move into.

Interested? Join the mailing list to keep updated. Registration opens in June for the event on the 9th October. We’ll have the videos out very soon, but in the meantime, take a sneak peek at what we’ve been doing.

Also a special thanks to Robert Keyes (Keyes Media) for taking on the task of recording these sessions, Ben Lee for interviewing all our sponsors and Graham Hosking for hosting us.
